Membership Dues
Membership dues for current members must be renewed by April 1st each year. Even if you don't intend to participate in the August ride, you should renew your dues. Memberships that lapse will mean that you will need to reapply for membership.
A link to the membership renewal form is located on the right sidebar.
2024 Ride Dates:
We are still waiting form permits for both the June and the August but will have things firmed up by the March meeting on 3/9/2024
New Member Applications:
The membership applications for new memberships are available on the right sidebar. Application may now be applied for at any time during the year.
GO to the membership page for more information and download a membership application form.
Annual Meeting:
Due to the bylaws changes instituted for 2022, the next annual meeting will be held on March 9, 2024. Location will once again be at the Sturbridge Host Hotel.
Junior Riders:
We are implementing a procedure to allow members to bring along junior riders on the August ride. Juniors would include family members such as grandchildren, nieces and nephews, as well as students and family friends. The juniors must be accompanied by a medical and liability waiver, be in the custody of a CSTR member and be supervised at all times.
Friends of Members
Friends of CSTR members will be allowed to participate as riders in the August ride. If the August ride does not fill by the posted entry date, Entry will be opened to friends of CSTR members. The CSTR member must agree to sponsor and monitor the non-member applicant for the duration of the ride. Contact the President for permission.
A note on deadlines:
Enforcing deadlines is an important part of a successful event. There is some confusion as to the deadlines we use and our commitment to them. In an effort to make things easier and still maintain order, we have instituted the following rules:
When we plan the June and August rides our ride fees and entry and cancellation dates depend on several hard facts. We will be contracting with a caterer, a dumpster and portable toilets which all come with a contract that requires a downpayment and a fixed end cost. The caterer especially has a contract for a certain number of meals that is decided on prior to the ride date.
FOR JUNE
Entries and full payment and paperwork must be received 7 days
before ride start date.
Cancellations received before the 7 days entry date will be
refunded less a $30 cancellation fee. Cancellation reasons include
illness or injury of horse or rider, or a death in the family.
A doctor and/or vet note is required for illness or injury.Post
entries will be allowed after the 7 days with a $50 post entry fee
but all ride and post entry fees and paperwork must be received no
later than 3 days before the ride date.
FOR AUGUST
Entries and full payment and paperwork must be received 15 days
before ride start date.
Cancellations received before the 15 days entry date will be
refunded less a $50 cancellation fee. Cancellation reasons include
illness or injury of horse or rider, or a death in the family. A
doctor and/or vet note is required for illness or injury.
Post entries will be allowed between 15 days and 2 days before the
ride date, with a $50 post entry fee. All post entry forms, ride
fees and post entry fees and other paperwork must be received no
