CSTR Aug 2010

Membership Dues

Membership dues for current members must be renewed by April 1st each year.  Even if you don't intend to participate in the August ride, you should renew your dues.  Memberships that lapse will mean that you will need to reapply for membership.

A link to the membership renewal form is located on the right sidebar.

Pending permit receipt, we are planning on the June ride being located at the Army Corp of Engineers Springfield Lake Project in Perkinsville VT Go to the June page for details.

Annual Meeting:

Due to the bylaws changes instituted for 2022, the next annual meeting will be held on March 11, 2023.  Location will once again be at the Sturbridge Host Hotel.

Junior Riders:

We are implementing a procedure to allow members to bring along junior riders on the August ride.  Juniors would include family members such as grandchildren, nieces and nephews, as well as students and family friends.  The juniors must be accompanied by a medical and liability waiver, be in the custody of a CSTR member and be supervised at all times.

Friends of Members

Friends of CSTR members will be allowed to participate as riders in the August ride.  If the August ride does not fill by June 30, Entry will be opened to friends of CSTR members.  The CSTR member must agree to sponsor and monitor the non-member applicant for the duration of the ride.  Contact President Ed McNamara for permission.

A note on deadlines:

Enforcing deadlines is an important part of a successful event.  There is some confusion as to the deadlines we use and our commitment to them.  In an effort to make things easier and still maintain order, we have instituted the following rules:

  • Deadline for the August Ride has been extended to June 30th, and this deadline is final.  Entries must be received by June 30, not postmarked on that date.
  • The wait list has been eliminated and a limited number of new members will be admitted each year who will have an equal opportunity to attend the August ride
  • The number of horse entries is capped at 100 per day and if this number is reached before the June 30 date, it will be enforced over the June 30th cut off.
